You can log in to your Kortext account through the sign-in page!
If your university is providing your eTextbooks, your login details will be sent to your university email address or access will be provided through your VLE.
You can also access your Kortext account by clicking ‘Sign up’ and ‘Sign up through your institution”. After selecting your institution, the authentication portal will open and you’ll be able to access your account.
Yes, you can!
From our login page, you can select ‘Forgot password?’ and follow the instructions to receive an automated Password Reset email. If you do not receive a link to reset, check your spam inbox as it can sometimes end up there.

Firstly, check that you are signing in with the correct email address (this is usually your university email address) and that you are accessing via the correct method. Further information on how to initially access your e-textbooks can be found here.

With My files you can upload your own files to Kortext and take advantage of Kortext’s functionalities.
My files support file types such as .pdf, .ePub, .xlc, .doc(x), and .ppt.
Yes, the books on your Kortext bookshelf can be read offline in the Kortext apps! To do this, you’ll need to download the Kortext app which is available for Windows, Android, iOS and Mac devices, once you have downloaded the app, the books on your bookshelf will be available for download.
Any study activity carried out whilst reading offline will sync across your devices when you next have a Wi-Fi connection.

Yes, you can! If you accidentally download a book or if you no longer need to use a downloaded book, you can easily remove it from your library by clicking the ellipses button and then Remove Download.
If you have made annotations in the downloaded version, make sure that these have synched by checking in the web reader before removing the download.
To highlight or make notes, click and drag your mouse across a section of text and an option box will appear. Here you can select different colours to highlight the text and click ‘Add note’ to make an annotation.
A list of your notes and highlights is available for reference by clicking on the symbol of a page and plus icon on the left-hand sidebar of the book’s page. If you click on one of the listed annotations, the book will open to the corresponding section of text.

Yes, with the exception of the Mac app, we have a built in ‘Read-aloud’ option available through our app on Windows, Android, and iOS devices. You can select the section of text you would like to be read aloud to you, and from the option list which appears, select ‘Read Aloud’. Alternatively, if you click on the ‘Person symbol’ in the top-righthand corner of the screen, the entire page will be read aloud.
If you are accessing through the online reader, Kortext is compatible with the following external read-aloud software: NV Access, JAWS, TalkBack and VoiceOver.
Due to system limitations regarding publisher content, the Mac app does not currently offer the read-aloud functionality that all of our other apps do.
