Why I loved being a Kortext Ambassador!

Written by Abdul and reviewed by our team. Abdul was a Kortext Student Ambassador at the University of Westminster.

Being a Kortext Student Ambassador has been a rewarding experience that’s helped me grow personally and professionally.

Engaging with students

My main responsibility in the role was to promote the platform to students – not just talking about it, but actively showing them how to use it.

Whether through social media tasks or in-person events like pop-ups on campus, I found myself engaging with students regularly and becoming a visible part of the student community.

Developing my skills

One of the biggest skills I’ve developed through this role is communication. I had to explain things clearly and confidently, especially to students who were new to the platform or unsure about using digital textbooks.

Alongside this, I noticed my confidence improved too – I became better at expressing myself and more comfortable speaking to different types of people.

Enhancing my employability

What I really appreciated about the programme was its flexibility. Being in my third year, things were hectic with deadlines and uni stress, but this role allowed me to work around my schedule.

The extra income was definitely a bonus, but so was knowing that I was developing skills that I’ll be using in the future.

I now feel more prepared for the working world – whether it’s presenting an idea, working in a team, or simply having the confidence to put myself out there.

Using Kortext myself

As for the Kortext platform itself, it’s been a lifesaver during my academic journey.

The fact that it’s so easy to use and gives you access to textbooks anytime, anywhere, made a massive difference, especially when deadlines were looming and I couldn’t get to the library. It’s genuinely one of the most student-friendly resources I’ve used.

The overall experience

Overall, being a Kortext Student Ambassador wasn’t just about promoting something – it was about being part of something that supports students. I gained experience, confidence, and some good memories along the way.
