Exam season, that magical time of year when your room suddenly becomes a shrine to stationery, caffeine is your new best friend and your stress levels are somehow at heroic proportions. If you’re anything like me, the thought of revising an entire semester’s worth of material in just a few weeks can feel utterly overwhelming. But over the years, I’ve discovered a tool that genuinely makes life a lot easier\u2026 Kortext!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you don’t know what Kortext is, it’s essentially an online library filled to the brim with all your course textbooks and further learning resources. It’s basically the study sidekick that’s always ready, never tired, and never judging you when you’re revising in your PJs at 2am.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s how I survive the exam season with Kortext, plus a few tips I have picked up along the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Get organised from the start<\/b><\/h4>\n

One of the most challenging things about exam season is knowing where to start. Kortext makes this so much easier. You can highlight sections, make notes, and bookmark chapters. I always start by breaking my studies down and tagging the relevant sections in Kortext.<\/span><\/p>\n

If I’m revising biomedical engineering, for example, it would contain bookmarks on “Biomechanics,” “Medical Imaging,” and “Human Anatomy.” That way, I can jump straight into the content that I need to focus on without having to scroll through an endless PDF.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pro tip: Use the highlighting tool strategically different colours for definitions, formulas, and examples. It may seem like extra work at first but trust me, on exam day you\u2019ll be thanking yourself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Make your revision active<\/b><\/h4>\n

I’ve learned the hard way that passive reading may not always be useful. You can spend hours going through a textbook and then realise you don’t remember anything. Kortext helps by letting you add notes directly in the e-textbook.<\/span><\/p>\n

I like summarising paragraphs in my own words; it makes the information more understandable and easier to remember. Another feature I find incredibly useful is the AI question tool in study+, which generates questions based on the topic I\u2019m studying. It helps me actively engage with the material and identify any gaps in my knowledge. It\u2019s almost like having a mini tutor in my pocket.<\/span><\/p>\n

Search function = time saver<\/b><\/h4>\n

If there’s one feature that’s saved me endless hours, it’s the search bar. Instead of flipping through hundreds of pages looking for a tiny bit of information, I just type in a keyword or formula and Kortext shows me every mention in the textbook.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a complete game-changer during exam season when literally every minute counts. I once spent only ten minutes revising a tricky medical imaging concept because Kortext brought up all the relevant pages immediately. No wasted time, no panic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Revise on the go<\/b><\/h4>\n

Let’s be realistic: you aren’t always going to be able to revise at your desk. Sometimes you’re on your commute, waiting for a lecture, or just taking a short break. Kortext’s mobile app means your entire library is accessible anywhere. I often pull up my notes on my phone during coffee breaks or highlight key points while I’m on the bus. Those little pockets of time soon add up.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take care of yourself<\/b><\/h4>\n

Exam season isn’t all about cramming information, it’s also about looking after your mental and physical health. Short breaks, exercise, and proper sleep make a huge difference. I like the Pomodoro method: 25 minutes of focused study, then a 5-minute break. It keeps me from burning out and makes my revision sessions way more productive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Track your progress<\/b><\/h4>\n

Finally, one of my favourite things about Kortext is the ability to track what I’ve covered. After each session, I mark off the sections I’ve studied. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction and helps me plan my next session. By the time exam week rolls around, I know precisely which areas need more attention, which cuts stress way down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kortext turned this chaotic exam season into something much more manageable. Paired with good revision techniques and self-care strategies, it has helped me remain focused and confident during exams.
