It can be fun, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">exciting,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> and amazing, but it can equally be busy, stressful, and overwhelming.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Sometimes, stress is a bit of a buzzword, but if that\u2019s how you feel, then that\u2019s perfectly ok.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Despite the fact it can make you feel\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">terrible<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, stress is a natural feeling, designed to help you cope in challenging situations. In small doses<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0it can be helpful because it pushes you to work hard and do your best, but sometimes it\u2019s more than a small dose which therefore becomes unhelpful.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">If you are feeling super stressed, it can lead to mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. It can also hinder your academic performance.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">It\u2019s worth noting, you\u2019re entitled to feel however you feel and there\u2019s always a way to help change the way you feel and alleviate stress<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and anxiet<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">y<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, regardless of the cause and however major or minor they are.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Keep on reading to help identify stress, and anxiety and how you may be able to help yourself overcome these feelings.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">How to identify stress and anxiety<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Stress can you make you feel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>irritable<\/li>\n<li>anxious<\/li>\n<li>like you cannot enjoy yourself<\/li>\n<li>worried a lot of the time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may start to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>have sleep\u00a0problems<\/li>\n<li>find it hard to\u00a0concentrate<\/li>\n<li>bite your nails, pick your\u00a0skin\u00a0or grind your\u00a0teeth<\/li>\n<li>snap at\u00a0people<\/li>\n<li>feel short of breath or breathe very fast.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anxiety can make you feel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>restless<\/li>\n<li>a sense of dread<\/li>\n<li>constantly &#8220;on edge&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>irritable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">What can you do?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Acknowledging that you\u2019re not feeling so great is the first step.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">There are several things you can do to treat yourself such as self-care.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Taking some time out of your day to find some peace can be incredibly valuable to your mental health. You can do things such as switching off your phone and reading a book, having your favourite hot drink, watching your favourite tv show, going for a walk, the list goes on!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The NHS have some\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">really useful<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0tips too, such as speaking to your GP for further advice.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/mental-health\/conditions\/generalised-anxiety-disorder\/treatment\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Click here<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0to the NHS\u2019s advice on treating anxiety.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The NHS has also written a brilliant resource on treating student stress.
