Emissions reduction<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong>\u00a0achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Emission reduction initiatives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Partnered with Microsoft to mitigate against the environmental impact of server utilisation owing to their\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/corporate-responsibility\/sustainability?activetab=pivot_1%3aprimaryr3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sustainability commitments<\/a><\/span>\u00a0including:\n<ul>\n<li>Use 100% renewable energy by 2025<\/li>\n<li>Be water-positive by 2030<\/li>\n<li>Have zero-waste certification by 2030<\/li>\n<li>Have net zero deforestation from new construction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Implemented a hybrid working policy to reduce employee travel by an estimated 52,000 journeys per year and associated carbon emissions by approximately 100 tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Transitioned our annual sales conference from in-person to online, reducing the carbon emissions of employees\u2019 international air travel by an estimated 10 tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Removed dependency on bottled water deliveries by installing mains-fed filtered water system, saving the carbon emissions equivalent of one car driving 45,000 miles.<\/li>\n<li>Promoted a paperless office environment, stopping 6,000 letters a year being posted and significantly reduced carbon emissions related to postal deliveries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>2. Energy use<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong>\u00a0transition to 100% renewable energy and enhance energy efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Our renewable energy commitment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Achieved 100% renewable energy use in all Kortext facilities by 2022.<\/li>\n<li>Use 100% renewable energy for all Kortext\u2019s business activities by 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Energy efficiency projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implemented light motion sensors in communal areas to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.<\/li>\n<li>Introduced auto shut-off capabilities for climate control units to minimise wasteful energy use.<\/li>\n<li>Replaced kettles with instant hot water dispensers, achieving 50% greater energy efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>3. Resource management<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong>\u00a0enhance resource efficiency and promote the use of sustainable materials.<\/p>\n<p>Office recycling programmes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Established and maintained office recycling bins to minimise waste and promote recycling among employees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Waste reduction:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eliminated wasteful practices by encouraging efficient resource use and reducing reliance on single-use items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sustainable packaging:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all paper and cardboard-based marketing materials are sourced from recycled materials by the end of 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>4. Community engagement<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong>\u00a0support community-based environmental initiatives and promote sustainability awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Carbon offsetting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engaged in tree planting initiatives, including partnerships with organisations such as the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalforest.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Forest<\/a><\/span>, to offset carbon emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sustainability partnerships:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborated with partners committed to sustainability, such as Microsoft, to align our goals with broader environmental efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Monitoring and reporting<\/h3>\n<p>We are committed to transparency in our sustainability efforts.
