How can I check whether a title is available?
Eligible Kortext titles can be discovered and purchased through GOBI as part of your existing acquisitions workflow.
If you require assistance with title availability or licensing options, please contact your EBSCO representative.
What access models are available?
Kortext offers perpetual access licences for academic monographs in the following models:
• Single User (1U)
• Three User (3U)
• Unlimited User Access (UA)

Please note that availability varies by publisher and title.

Can libraries upgrade their access model after purchase?
Titles purchased through GOBI cannot currently be upgraded through the GOBI workflow.
If additional access is required, please contact the Kortext Support Team at support@kortext.com to discuss the available options for your title
How quickly will content become available after purchase?
Institutional setup is normally completed within 72 working hours of receiving the required information.
Once your institution has been configured and content has been purchased through GOBI, access is usually enabled promptly, allowing users to begin accessing their content with minimal delay.
Are MARC records available for Kortext content purchased through GOBI?
Yes. MARC record provision is managed through the GOBI workflow. Please contact your EBSCO representative for information on MARC record delivery and related services.
How can libraries ensure purchased content is discoverable?
MARC records can be used to make purchased content discoverable through your library catalogue and discovery services. Your EBSCO representative can advise on the options available as part of your GOBI workflow.
Is Kortext COUNTER compliant?

Yes. Kortext provides COUNTER-compliant 5.1 usage reporting to support collection analysis and evidence-based decision making.

Is Kortext accessible?
Yes. The Kortext eReader (web app and desktop version) is conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, verified through an independent accessibility audit completed in 2025.

Our alignment with WCAG 2.2 AA supports compliance with accessibility requirements across the global higher education community. The Kortext eReader adopts the principles of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) as best practice, with conformance assessed against EN 301
549, and also conforms to the Revised Section 508 Standards (updated 2018), which incorporate WCAG requirements into U.S. federal accessibility legislation.

Downloadable content is supported in accessible formats, consistent with EPUB Accessibility 1.1 and PDF/UA principles where applicable. Alternative formats can also be provided to support individual learner needs.

An Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT v2.5) for the Kortext eReader is available on request. Institutions in North America should contact accessibility.na@kortext.com, while institutions in all other regions should contact accessibility@kortext.com.

What reporting and analytics are available?
Kortext provides libraries with usage analytics and reporting via our dashboard that are available when logged into Kortext. This helps libraries understand content performance, monitor access trends and support collection development decisions.
These reports can help support collection analysis, demonstrate value and inform future purchasing decisions
What authentication options are available?
Kortext supports a range of authentication methods, allowing institutions to choose the approach that best suits their users and existing infrastructure.
Common authentication options include:

• IP Authentication – Provides seamless access for users when connected to the institution’s network.
• EZproxy Access – Supports both on-campus and off-campus access through the institution’s EZproxy service.
• EZproxy with Institutional Single Sign-On (IdP Authentication) – Combines EZproxy with your institution’s identity provider, enabling users to authenticate using their institutional credentials.

Kortext also supports additional authentication methods, including direct integration with identity providers such as OpenAthens and Shibboleth, which are widely used across the higher education sector.
