Content
Does Kortext have all the publisher content and terms required to support library licensing business?
We have an extensive inventory from 8,000+ publishers worldwide including leading academic names. However, for complete assurance, send us your title list and we will confirm availability.
Which licence models do you offer?
Kortext offers libraries a wide range of models including:Â
- Perpetual access licences Â
- Rental/subscription options covering: 
- Unlimited or limited concurrency eBook licences 
- 1:1 eTextbooks
- Demand-driven acquisition (DDA) and patron-driven acquisition (PDA) for both perpetual access content and rental/subscription content
- OA/OER content available as free-to-access eBooks.
Does Kortext support licence upgrades?
Yes, we support licence upgrades, as needed.
Do you offer short term loans?
Currently, short term loans is not a model that Kortext supports under our publisher contracts.Â
Will Kortext supply print books?
We are not planning to offer shelf-ready print supply, but we do work with a partner to supply print books subject to minimum orders of eBooks.
Will you be offering a digital first approval plan?
Yes, we will be able to support digital first approval plans.
Will Kortext support searching by Dewey and Library of Congress?
Yes, these developments will be available as part of the ‘Advanced Search’ functionality in our acquisitions platform, Kortext acquire.
Hosting
Can I rehost my content with more than one supplier?
A title with a limited user licence can only be hosted by one supplier. For example, an eBook with three concurrent user licences cannot be hosted by both Kortext and another aggregator.Â
Will Kortext be charging a rehosting fee?
No, we will not be charging a fee for rehosting titles.
How can my library transfer its holdings to Kortext?
You will need an up-to-date holdings report and permission from your current supplier to transfer the holdings. Kortext will confirm title match or supply data for you to review.  Â
You can export a list of your owned eBook Central holdings. An Entitlements Report can be run from the Entitlements Report page in LibCentral. If you require additional detail on usage and purchase details, you can generate a Title Report. Â
How can I update my holdings with Kortext access URLs?
We can supply a list of your titles in MARC or Excel with your new access URLs so you can update holdings in your LMS or discovery service.
Is Kortext COUNTER compliant?
Kortext is COUNTER 5 compliant and working towards COUNTER 5.1 audit compliance.
Workflows
Do you integrate with Library Management Systems?
Yes, Kortext integrates with most Library Management Systems including Alma, Sierra and OCLC.
What does your acquisitions platform offer?
We have already invested heavily in our acquisitions platform, Kortext acquire, based on customer feedback. We are accelerating the pace of development of Kortext acquire as a free-to-use acquisition tool for any library, integrated with all key library systems to deliver seamless workflow for content discovery, selection and acquisition.
Do you charge for MARC records?
Kortext does not charge for MARC records up to and including level 2. Enhanced MARC records will incur a charge.
