Kortext, the UK’s leading digital learning platform and etextbooks provider, today announced that it has finalised agreements to include etextbooks from all of the key academic publishers in its distribution digital learning platform.

Kortext, focused on the UK Higher Education market, offers on-line and offline access to key etextbooks from multiple publishers, combined with a set of tools that provide the user with functionality beyond anything a traditional textbook can offer. Publishers partnering with Kortext include key players in the global textbook market such as: Pearson, Wiley, McGraw Hill, Taylor & Francis, Palgrave, Oxford University Press and others.

Kortext works with publisher partners to develop secure and efficient supply chains matching publisher content with end user demand, by offering maximum functionality without compromising the publisher’s intellectual property. The company provides its publisher partners with access to the growing number of individual and institutional purchasing channels for core etextbooks in the UK. Kortext’s combined publisher offering is available through UK-focused partners including John Smiths. Additionally, lecturers are able to use the service to request and access review copies of textbooks.

Kortext is device agnostic, providing the student with a mobile learning environment.

Michelle Leicester, Head of Marketing at Kortext commented:

We are delighted to have the endorsement of these important textbook publishers as we move to take our offering with their content to market. These are exciting times in UK higher education.

Also, Neil Broomfield, Business Development Director for Wiley stated

Wiley are excited to be working with John Smith’s and Kortext to support the launch of a new digital learning platform for student texts. With advances in technology and changing student expectations, the academic market for learning materials is rapidly evolving towards a digital future. Wiley is keen to ensure that our content is available to as wide an audience as possible and that students have a choice of options for accessing their learning materials. With a proven innovative track record, we are confident that Kortext and John Smith’s will deliver a compelling digital experience for their customers.

Marianne Lightowler at Oxford University Press added

Kortext is a welcome addition to the etextbook market, providing us with increased opportunities to broaden our etextbook provision in Higher Education.
