About the report

The use of data has become a critical tool in helping to not only create a better understanding of student engagement but provide a means to offer proactive and individualised support to students.

To better understand this growing focus on learning analytics, Wonkhe and StREAM by Kortext partnered to launch a community of practice that set out to support a series of action research projects that would go on to explore how analytics are being used, their impact and lessons that could be learnt.

This report showcases findings from three of the participating universties that demonstrate the use of data to draw links between insight, practice and student success.

Expect to find:

  • An introduction and conclusion from Wonkhe, the home of Higher Education debate
  • Research findings from University of West of England, Bristol, Teesside University and University College Birmingham
  • Emerging trends and considerations for the wider use of student engagement and learning analytics
