Academic advising

Developing a more holistic approach to academic advising, with the support of StREAM has enhanced academic practices for over 500 Advisors and benefitted more than 10,000 students. Middlesex University are keen to evaluate the impact of this on student outcomes and regulatory metrics.



Consistent support

Deploying StREAM and using data-driven advising has helped create a holistic approach to support, meaning students have a more consistent and cohesive experience no matter which faculty or department they study with – which has helped increase student engagement.



Better collaboration

There has been ongoing collaboration with Advisors and Professional Services to embed the standard approach, which interventions in StREAM strongly support. This improved collaboration across the University is helping to deliver stronger and more personalised support to students.

Improved NSS scores

Since implementing StREAM and the new data-driven approach to academic advising, Middlesex University have exceeded the Office for Students benchmarks in five of seven NSS themes – including academic support, organisation and management and student voice.
