Removing barriers to learning

We are dedicated to providing rich, highly functional, long-term solutions for the needs of all learners, making our platforms truly accessible.

We are continually working to maintain the accessibility of Kortext platforms with design and usability testing.

As a minimum, all our content aims to conform to level AA of the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG2.1.

How we promote accessibility

Read aloud

Convert text to speech in both EPUBs and PDFs. Choose your preferred narrator, select the speed, and skip forward or back as needed. Our app is also compatible with screen reading software like NV Access, JAWS, TalkBack and VoiceOver.

Text & background

Customise your reading experience in EPUBs. Select your preferred font style (including OpenDyslexic), colour and text size. Adjust line spacing, margins and justification. Opt for dark mode, or use one of several coloured backgrounds.

Display options

Navigate through EPUBs using scroll or pages mode and auto, single or double page view. In PDFs, enlarge text using magnification tools. In EPUBs, change the font style or increase the font size to reflow text in the eReader screen.

Alt text

Images contain alt text, clarifying their content and purpose.

Navigation

Navigational tagging is available across all our content.

Page numbers

Page numbers are located in the margin for ease of navigation.

Transcripts

Transcripts of audio and video content are available on request.

Formats

Many of our titles are available DRM-free and in EPUB format.

Languages

Choose from French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Hebrew, and more!

Offline reading

Once downloaded, read eBooks offline for fully inclusive learning.
