When you think about awards season, you think of movie stars adorning red carpets with their incredible outfits, but that’s all about to change.
We’re super excited to announce that nominations for the Times Higher Education Awards are now open!
The Times Higher Education Awards are fondly known as the Oscars of the higher education sector;
Each category attracts hundreds of entries that exemplify the talent, dedication and innovation of individuals and teams across all aspects of university life.
This year, Kortext want in on the action!
We’re proud to announce that we have partnered with Times Higher Education to sponsor the award for Outstanding Library Team.
Throughout the pandemic, praises have been sung for unsung heroes, but overlooked by many is the hard work and dedication of librarians in higher education settings.
When the pandemic closed campuses, the spotlight focused on librarians for the continuity of courses.
Institutions were relying on their resilience and ability to source texts essential to allow for lecturers to teach, and for students to learn.
Working tirelessly
While the shift to etextbooks via a digital first approach was already emerging, yet it was accelerated by the pandemic.
Many librarians succeeded in delivering an incredible number of texts to their institutions,
A survey conducted by Kortext found that in the last 12 months, almost 87% of librarians said that their ebook spend increased, supporting the shift to a digital first approach.
At Kortext, our ethos is to allow access to texts anytime and anywhere and it’s definitely in the nature of librarians to do the same.
Their swift reaction to the pandemic and their ability to adapt and overcome is something that we would like to celebrate by sponsoring the award for Outstanding Library Team.
