Kortext and the University of Tasmania partner to advance predictive engagement analytics and strengthen data-informed student support
London, 28 May 2026 – Kortext, a global leader in digital learning and student engagement, and the University of Tasmania (UTAS), a leading Australian university and global pioneer in sustainability research, have partnered to bring stream, Kortext’s student engagement analytics platform, to the Australian higher education sector for the first time.
Kortext has been an innovator in digital learning and engagement solutions since 2013, enhancing higher education worldwide with a suite of digital products. Kortext stream is already trusted by 20+ institutions across the UK to identify priority learners and drive data-informed outreach across retention, attainment and wellbeing.
Ranked among the world’s leading universities for climate action and sustainability in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, UTAS’s commitment to student equity and social mobility, and their existing investment in evidence-led student support, made them a strong fit for Kortext’s first Australian partnership of the stream product.
UTAS brings a strong foundation in data-led student support through its Student Advice and Mentoring (SAM) model, which combines student demographic data with academic engagement signals to guide early outreach.
Kortext stream builds on this, adding a predictive engagement algorithm that draws on a wider range of signals to flag students who may need support earlier and with greater accuracy, giving student support staff a richer, more actionable view of each individual and freeing up time to focus on meaningful outreach.
“Students’ success and the quality of their learning experience has been a key priority for our University for many years. This opportunity to partner with Kortext to advance a more sophisticated way to understand and support our students throughout their study journey allows us to reach more students, understand their situations and engagement in a more nuanced and personalised way to meet their unique needs, and facilitate collaboration between all staff supporting students. We look forward to realising these benefits for our students.”
Associate Professor Jane Skalicky, Director of Student Academic Success, University of Tasmania
“We are thrilled to welcome the University of Tasmania (UTAS) as our first Australian stream partner. Their commitment to student success and social mobility aligns closely with the mission and design principles here at Kortext. UTAS’s existing use of data to inform student outreach, embedded in their support processes and workflows, made them a natural first strategic partner in Australia. We’re delighted that UTAS has chosen stream and its predictive engagement algorithm to build on their approach and get the right support to the right student at the right time. We look forward to working with the team at UTAS and following their progress.”
Simon Mavin, Chief Revenue Officer, Kortext
Together, Kortext and UTAS will work to strengthen student support across the University, combining the analytics capability of stream with UTAS’s deep commitment to student equity and success.
