Discover our latest app updates

Our latest app release introduces new features across iOS, Mac, Android and Windows, helping users manage access to their course materials more easily and enjoy a smoother reading experience.

These updates help to:

  • Make expired book labels clearer
  • Improve accessibility and reading support
  • Strengthen reliability across the apps

iOS and Mac

Clearer access and improved navigation

Expired books are now clearly labelled – with unavailable actions removed – helping students quickly understand when access to a title has ended and prevents them from selecting actions that no longer apply.

We’ve also improved the search experience, allowing students to open a book from their search results and return to those results without starting again.

Enhanced VoiceOver support

iPad users can now navigate textbook content more independently using Apple’s VoiceOver screen reader, improving accessibility for students who rely on screen reader support.

Android

More comfortable reading

Android users will now see expired books labelled consistently, with unavailable actions removed to support a clearer experience.

Dark mode

We’re introducing dark mode on Android, supporting a more comfortable reading experience in low-light environments.

Windows

Clearer expired book status

On Windows, expired books are now clearly labelled and no longer show unavailable actions, helping students understand what content they can access and what actions are available.

Update notifications

The Windows app will now let users know when a newer version is available in the Microsoft Store, making it easier to stay up to date.

Additional fixes and reliability updates

We’ve also included a range of fixes across the apps to improve book loading, downloads, notes, navigation, accessibility and overall stability.

Together, these updates are designed to reduce friction for students and support a smoother, more reliable experience when accessing and using their course materials.
